The Mnyera and Ruhudji Rivers together offer one of the last remaining frontiers of freshwater fishing with less than 15 individuals having sport fished these amazing waters prior to 2008. Set deep in an untouched corner of the Tanzanian Wilderness, this area is famous for being home to monster 20lb+ tigers. The revealing of this discovery in August 2008 has been widely acknowledged as one of the highlights in African sport fishing over the past decade. We were fortunate to be one of the first to visit with Ryan Wienand who kept these amazing rivers secret for many years. Once opened up the first season of few anglers saw a staggering eight fish over the 20lb mark, which could never happen anywhere else.  Since then the ongoing catch data indicates clearly that the strict beat rotation implemented has been a huge success.
